Isle of Wight RFC again supported Movember this year, with 22 players or club members growing moustaches of varying styles and raising a whopping total of £2285 for the Movember Foundation. This charity event raises awareness of men's health issues such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer and the prevalence of suicide in men. Movember runs in various countries worldwide and has raised approximately £700 million since 2004, funding lots of health projects internationally. Club secretary Kieran Leahy said: 'The club would like to sincerely thank everyone who supported us with sponsorship this Movember - we're bowled over by your generosity which has added up to our best Movember ever! We're also aware that many people are glad to see the moustaches gone, although some have grown attached to theirs and are keeping them! We hope to raise more money and awareness next year.'
