An early season trip to Overton is always a challenge, but with a handful of unavailabilities, the Island were pleased to come away with a try bonus point.
It was the visitors who struck first as driving forward play led to Luke Blackman crossing. Back came Overton with a converted try, followed by a penalty try for a high tackle.
The home side scored again before Martin crossed for the Island's second. By half time the visitors found themselves 31-10 down and focussed on achieving a bonus point.
However the home side stretched their lead before the Island added two further tries by Blackman
A better second half from the Island sets them up for next Saturday's double header derby games against Ventnor at Wootton Rec.
